In this week’s episode of Cut To The Chase, my co-host Diego Traglia and I discuss the importance of creating a point of difference in real estate.
In today’s episode, we are talking about how to differentiate yourself from other agents in the market. Across Auckland there are thousands of agents that are all trying to sell properties in the same area, that’s why it’s vital to differentiate yourself from other agents. Everyone has their own unique strengths, finding what makes you stand out from the crowd is the key to obtaining more listings.
To begin with, find your niche. This will be something that is authentic to you as an agent and how you want vendors and buyers to view your personal brand. As a new agent, establishing a personal brand can be difficult. Selling yourself and what you can offer compared to other agents is extremely important. Next will be dedicating yourself to understanding your area. Learn everything there is to know about the suburbs you work in, basically become a local!
From here, you will need a 30-second elevator pitch that is concise, unique to your strengths, and isn’t generalised. This is the first step in creating a brand that people want to work with. Research a good elevator pitch, and practice it until you can present it with conviction. Building market dominance and a personal brand takes time, but knowing your niche and area inside out and persevering with your point of difference will see you reap the rewards over time.
